Ok, everyone knows that most of the adverisements you see are all photoshopped. It's just something that society has come down to. Sad? Yes!

Fortunately we could all do something about it. STOP buying clothes from these retailers that promote being "Stick Skinny". We can also write letters to designers and let them know that we want to see average women in the advertisements. Lastly we can start internally and love ourselves for who we are and not what the media "wants" us to be, or look like.

With all that being said there's a picture that has been circulating the internet and causing a ton of controversy. It's an advertisement for Ralph Lauren and honestly it's disgusting. Take a look below.

I don't know about you but the model pictured above in this ad looks like a dam Bratz doll.
(Even then the doll looks healthier then this model).

This model can even pass for a character from "The Nightmare Before Christmas". It's more suitable I suppose.

Bottom line. This is not a true depiction of the model and not at all what she looks like. Someone from Ralph Lauren clearly spent hours on Photoshop trying to distort this beautiful women into something that todays media is really pushing to see as a "standard" for all women. When I see people doing this to already skinny models, and companies releasing this as "beauty" it really makes me sick to my stomach.

Take a look at what this model ACTUALLY looks like...

What are your thoughts on this picture? Does this distort your image of "Beauty"? Tell me what you think. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

There's a great blogosphere-battle brewing between website Boing Boing and clothier Ralph Lauren over an advertisement featuring a Ralph Lauren-clad woman photoshopped to impossible thinness. The gauntlet was thrown when a Boing Boing blogger reproduced the ad with this succinct critique:

"Dude, her head's bigger than her pelvis."

Instead of addressing this disturbing, and accurate criticism, Ralph Lauren responded by accusing Boing Boing of copyright infringement for reprinting the ad. Boing Boing points out, this is "Classic fair use: a reproduction 'for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting." Check this out: Letter from PRL .. BOGUS! and here is why... UPDATE:
Last Thursday Polo Ralph Lauren has released this statement to 'Extra':
"For over 42 years we have built a brand based on quality and integrity. After further investigation, we have learned that we are responsible for the poor imaging and retouching that resulted in a very distorted image of a woman's body. We have addressed the problem and going forward will take every precaution to ensure that the caliber of our artwork represents our brand appropriately."
